LeeAbout 75% of the time, I’m pretty good about menu planning and my girls like seeing our weekly menu at a glance. Then there are weeks when everything goes to he** in a handbasket! I try not to rely on spontaneous take out in those cases so sometimes we have an “eat out of the fridge” night where it’s basically everyone fend for themselves even if that means Ramen noodles, a bowl of cereal or a sandwich for dinner.

SebastianI sort of do menu planning.
I have the meals planned out, but when we have too many leftovers it becomes a “fend for yourself” night.
Schedules changed again-3rd time this month, so I’m not sure who is eating when or where.
I’m just making the meals and seeing where it goes.

MauroWell thank you for the lead in.
LOL! As most of you already know I’m working on doing a YEAR’S worth of menu plans. On one of the lists I’m on they have asked me to post the year’s menus so they can see how it works and such. Keisha has already shown this list how the planning can save a tremendous amount of money.
However, because of all the inquiries I have received both public and private I’ve decided to post the how to’s , menus and recipes for my year’s of planning on my blog, rather than clog up the lists. The first post is now up. The How to plan for a year part. I’ll be blogging a lot through the weekend. I’m working on the promised Disney on the cheap posts (thanks for the info Jeannette, I’ll get the proof post to you soon) at the same time as the menu planning ones. I’m hoping that one or both will help others to save money so they can take their dreamed of celebration trips soon.

ClaudeI made my yearly list.
I then do it the easy way.
I make a list 7 breakfasts,lunches & dinners off the big list.
I stick it on the fridge and just pick off whatever i’m in the mood for that day.I write the 7 day list in pencil and just scratch whatever is used off in pencil.
Thank you much!November 14, 2013 at 7:31 pm
JeraldLOL. I feel the same way Eldred. I’m horrible with planning my meals, this is an area I really need to work on.
