TobiasKim, How are you doing with reading Dan Miller’s books, No More Mondays and 48 days to the work you Love? I just got them from the library.
I only skimmed through the 48 day book but it looks like it is more about how to land a job or start a business rather than helping you to figure out what job you should get or what business you should start.
It did have great ideas though but I am still trying to figure out what I should do.
Hopefully the other book will address that.
He says that there will be an explostion of jobs in the next ten years for people who are dreamers, healers and peacemakers which is the category where I would fall.
He says that 14 of the fastest growing jobs in the next ten years will be in this area but he does not say what the 14 jobs are.
Just wanted to see what your experiences are with these books.
Thanks, SusanneOctober 23, 2013 at 7:35 pm
PaulSusanne unfortunately I haven’t had a second to pick it back up.
I have time though.
I need to finish baby step 2 before I make any major change.
I’m trying in the meantime to pinpoint some things that I love and think I’d like to spend my life doing.October 23, 2013 at 7:46 pm
LuciusI’d be curious to know how you’re working through that process? Eldred — My eBay store: [MOD EDIT: URL removed]

RobbieHa ha! Now you’re pressing me.
LOL! Well I’m trying to keep things in persective.
There have been things I’ve done because the timing was right or the money was good but was it something I knew I’d LOVE to get up every day and do? Absolutely not.
I chose these things because of needs, wants, feeling forced to do something.
In the end what I choose may ultimately not be what I thought it was.
Do we ever really know what we want to be when we grow up and then actually grow up and love that job? I’m not sure yet because I haven’t found it.
I’m making a list of things I’m interested in and will be researching the fields thoroughly before pursuing anything.
Right now I have a good job with a good wage.
I am bored and don’t like the atmosphere I work in but for now it’s where I need to stay to complete some of the the Wallet Doctor steps.
I’m not going to jump into anything.
I don’t know if I want to work for myself or someone else.
I’m 44 and my husband has a great job but I’m also trying to keep in perspective that things don’t always go as we plan and we need an “emergency plan” for when those things do happen.
I need to be able to stand on my own if anything were to happen to him.
I’ve seen so many women struggle and not know where to turn with the loss of a spouse and vice versa.
We’re preparing ourselves for no matter which way it might go that the other is prepared and well-cared for.
In other words, were something to happen to him I want to be in a position to take care of myself since we’re not at the building wealth point right now.
There’s so much to think about.

TyroneYou are where I am..
Trouble is that the things I am interested in and love don’t make money – at least not obviously…
Knitting / Crochet…
Running a household School – learning Designing pretty stuff online (web pages) I have yet to figure out how to make those “loves” earn me anything – so far they only cost money.I’m making a list of things I’m interested in and will be researching the fields thoroughly before pursuing anything.

ReyMy ‘loves’ could make money, but you have to be extremely lucky to earn a living with them: Music Bowling Rocketry I like the idea of doing web pages, and that COULD make money, but I don’t know enough to make it lucrative.
So, I’m still looking.

KrisThere is ALOT — I meant ALOT you can do with that in an online format I have thought of becoming a nutritionist or an esthetician but I have not thought of a wellness coach.
It is definitely something to look into.
