LuciusI read everyone post, but this is the first time for me to post.
I’m in the FPU here in Las Vegas, I’ve been working on starting my savings account, working on my budget, reading my books and doing my homework.
Yesterday my husband got fired from his job.
Also we were behind on the bills, they were going to repo my car and turn off the power, I used the savings to pay for that stuff.
Now all we have is his 6 weeks of pay they gave him.
I also work, I make ok money, but not enough for him to be out of work for a long time.
I just don’t know what to do.

AlConstruction project manager? That sounds specialized.
As in, there aren’t too many people who are good enough to do that.
That might work in his favor…

EdwardoToday I did a big food shopping, I should be ok for about 2 months on food.
I’m just going to have to go pick up fresh food, (Milk, Eggs fruits and Veggies).
I even picked up extra dog food.
My husband says I’m going overboard, which I know I am.
But The last time he was out of work, he was out for a about 3 months, I figure I have enough money to pay 2 housepayments and my utilites and my car payment, we only have 1 car between the 2 of us.
I did tell him to sell his motorcycle.
I just feel that whenever I take a step forward in life, I end up taking 10 steps back.
And we are still trying to recover from the last time he was out of work.
I just feel so lost and lonely.
My mom calls but all she does is make me feel even worse.
God, I hope our marriage can survive this.

RooseveltRorie,
You are doing great! My husband has been out of work for a little over 2 years now. He did receive 6 months severance pay, and we have had to sell as much as we can to make ends meet. But the Lord always provides for us. A check may show up in the mail, or a gift card mysteriously makes it to our address for diapers for the little one or whatever. Right now he is working a part time job making 10.00 an hour and we still manage to pay our debts. Our baby steps have been put on hold, but we can still make the payments without incurring more debt. It may be 10 years or more until everything is paid off except for the house, but He is teaching us a lesson. Not quite sure what it is, maybe to rely only on Him. And we are sure learning that. Things will get better, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for you and you are taking steps to make sure your 4 walls are covered. Great job!!
God Bless you, Jill For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Adan{{{{{Rorie}}}}}}}}} What you are going through is difficult and isolating, but you’ve been through it before and know what to expect. You have fill your pantry and know where the next two house payments and utilities are coming from. All good news.
Plus you’ve got 2 months to find the money top pay the following 4 walls and you’ll be just fine.
While your husband is looking for work, maybe he can start working odd jobs. The summer is coming to an end and folks are preparing for fall and winter and I bet a few flyers around the neighborhood and in grocery stores will help bring in some income while he’s looking for full time work.
One of my co-teachers has a project he wants to do before winter but can’t do it alone and it’s a big job so he doesn’t want to ask a neighbor. I’m sure he’s not the only person who is planning that type job OR would be interested in doing a bigger than normal job if they could hire someone one.
Don’t give up hope. You can make it through this.

AntioneHello Everyone, I’m sorry I did not reply sooner, life got a worse as the days went by.
I’ve gotten all of this months bills paid and now I have 3000 left in the bank.
I will get paid next week, and I’ve worked a little overtime, so I should be ok.
I also had to send my husband back to the his family, he was just so depressed about loosing his job, and our money problems, our health problems, that I took him to the doctor.
The doctor said that he needed to get away from Las Vegas, so I called his folks told them what was going on, and we all decided, his parents, my parents and me that he is going home for about a month.
So they paid for his ticket home.
I’m going to stay here and work my job and try to work on our creditors.
My FPU class also ended, so I wrote the class coordiantor and asked if I can come back to the next class.
I’ve also started going to church, it’s been years and years since I went, but I feel a little better, maybe because I’m not alone in this.
Well I think this is getting kind of long.
But oh ya, while husband is with his folks, I’m having a Yard SaleThanks Rorie

EmilMy prayers are with you during this separation. Seems to me, and I”m not trying to sound harsh, that your husband left you at the most inopportune time. I understand about his health, but your health too. So I’m praying for the best with you.
But now that you’re here, we can look out for you, and be someone to talk with… Now what are you selling at the yard sale? Sharon H.
