So tell us about your piggy jar.  You say you don’t have one?   How can that be?  Everybody has some container by which they save their change….
so tell us about yours.  Or send a picture along.  How much change do you save during the year?  Those of you with significant others – do you have coin saving competitions or do you pool your change.
Here is my piggy jar – it is a gigantic coke bottle.  I extends from the floor about 32 inch’s high.  It takes me the entire year to fill it up and I’ve never had less than 600.00 in it.  One year I had 900+.    What do you use your change for when you convert
    it?   Sharon H.

Mine is simply a mason canning jar.
So, it doesn’t have too much in it when I empty it – usually about $80.
I have a plastic water cooler bottle that has pennies in it, and I’m *not* looking forward to emptying that one…

Usually, it gets added to my spending money, or maybe money for bowling.
However, a couple of times in the past I used it to add to my snowball.

    Mine’s an actual pig.
I got it for free at PNC bank years ago.
I’ll end up with over $1000.
    Always do.
    I roll coins fairly often.
This money always goes to funds kids’ extracurricular activities and for their designated spending money for vacations (each child gets $50 per vacation for their souveniors, tee shirts, etc.).

Mine is a gorgeous, hand made ceramic bowl that my ex boss (who was a certifiable nut job) bought me for my birthday one year when she was in one of her manic phases (she was bi-polar).
She paid $180 for it! It’s gorgeous, but holy moly, it was expensive! We save our change and usually cash it in once a year to use as spending money on our vacation.
We usually end up with about $300.

so tell us about yours.  Or send a picture along.  How much change do you save during the year?< Ours is nothing glamorous.  It is an old pickle jar.  An odd shaped one gallon jar.  I decorated it with stickers from our favorite place to vacation….Disneyland!  Occasionally I still smell pickles, but I don’t care.
We take ours to the local Credit Union (also our bank) and they count the coins for free.  I haven’t filled it all the way up yet.  Previously, we’d fill an old quart jar (it had a small chip on the top, or it would be still being used for canning!) and it would equal $50 or more, and we’d empty it every 3-4 months or so.

Right now, mine is a Sam’s Club size Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa can with a slit cut into the top.
Before the move, I was using a coke glass and would empty it into ziploc baggies when it got full.
Since we moved, I want it to keep accumulating more before dumping.

Ours is a coca-cola bank.  It is small, but we sometimes put dollar bills in it too, so it could be as much as $100.  It adds up very slowly because we have
a very small amount of blow money.  Most of the coins come from my DH.  I use mine for gum balls and exact change! If the coins make it downstairs then it goes in a glass vase in the kitchen, the quarters usually get spent when I need them for weekly dues at a church event.
The rest is still sitting there.  It doesn’t grow much, so I’ve never cashed it in.
Once the coca-cola bank gets full, I used to give each person in the family a 5th (there are 5 of us) and we’d use that as our blow money on our summer trip.
Last year we didn’t take a trip, so the money is still in there.  We might use it as a celebration when we are unsecured credit free.
